About me
Hi! I’m Rubi Pêgas (she/her) — a paleontologist, biologist, and above all a proud paleonerd. 🦖

I earned my Biology degree from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) in 2016. My journey into paleontology began during my undergraduate research internship at the National Museum (Rio de Janeiro) from 2013 to 2016. I later completed my MSc at the National Museum in 2019, and my PhD at the Federal University of ABC in 2023.

My research focuses on pterosaurs as well as other fossil reptiles. I’m particularly interested in their anatomy, systematics, and biomechanics, trying to understand how these animals lived and evolved.

I am an associate researcher at the Beipiao Pterosaur Museum of China, and I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo (MZUSP).

This website is both my professional page and my blog—a place where I share my research and thoughts on paleontology.
